Whatever happened to the ball club?

[Oops! Okay, how about this:

If you're from Europe,
a Yankee is someone from the U.S.A.
If you're from the U.S.A.,
a Yankee is someone from north of the Mason-Dixon line.
If you're from north of the Mason-Dixon line,
a Yankee is someone from New England.
If you're from New England,
a Yankee is someone from Maine.
If you're from Maine,
a Yankee is someone who eats pie for breakfast.
If you eat pie for breakfast,
a Yankee is a someone who plays for a NY ball club.
If you play for a NY ball club,
a Yankee is a someone who plays for a NY ball club.
