[This quote from Monday's front-page Seattle Post-Intelligencer article
on "component-ware" illustrates that Bill Gates has the media, especially
the regional media, eating out of his hands. He has created what Chomsky
calls a "doctrinal truth," also known as "consensus reality," where
statements like the following are accepted with a straight face. For
context, remember we're talking about the company that willfully ignores
RFC's written twenty years ago. --DRT]

"As with any new system, a key question is whose standard will be adopted.
And Microsoft, in typical style, has jumped out to an early lead while its
competitors are still working on prototypes."
