1997 IG NOBEL PRIZE CEREMONY
Call for Ig Nobel Delegations
Apply now to be among the select OFFICIAL DELEGATIONS for the seventh first
annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony (7:30 p.m., Thursday evening, October 9,
1997, Sanders Theatre, Harvard University).
Each OFFICIAL DELEGATION represents a single entity or idea and may
represent a department, research lab, campus group, Morris- dance team,
private company, government, prison, and/or concept (e.g., Non-extremists
for Moderate Change from Finland, or cadres of outraged earthlings who
abduct space-aliens in revenge). They are recognized at the start of the
ceremony and use props/costumes (e.g., masks, candelabra, placards) which
help identify them.
Each delegation is responsible and culpable for its own native costuming,
props, signs, and intellectually stimulating chants. Fire is not allowed.
Shoes are mandatory.
OFFICIAL DELEGATIONS are assured of a place in the auditorium. The total
number of seats for OFFICIAL DELEGATIONS is limited. All who apply to be a
delegation will be considered, but not all of the applications will be
selected. Selection will be largely first come, first served, using the

1997. (No email, no extensions, no refunds, no compassion.) Then wait
patiently to receive written notice about whether your OFFICIAL DELEGATION
has been selected. Your check will be returned only if you are not selected.
