As many of you know, a campaign of genocide engineered by the Indonesian
government is now occuring in East Timor in response to the overwhelming
vote cast for independence in last week's referendum. It's crucial for the
East Timorese to gain some kind of support from the reluctant U.S.
Please call the White House comment line to request that the US cease
support of any kind to the Indonesian government until they stop the
genocide in East Timor.
The number is 202-456-1414.
Thanks! This only takes a couple of minutes, and this kind of feedback is
crucial. The US is fearful of angering the INdonesian government (oil,
strategic concerns), so public outcry is the only way to move them out of
their tacit support of this terrible campaign of genocide.
