Passers-by "mooned" after minor auto accident

	CHARLTON, Mass. -- A driver was attacked and passing motorists were
	"mooned" Wednesday after a minor automobile accident.

	Charlton police said that a car driven by Ashleigh A. Landry, 16,
	stopped in front of her home just after 6 p.m. and then her vehicle
	was struck from behind by a car driven by Donna Ryan, 28, of
	Charlton.

	After the crash, Landry ran into the house to tell her mother,
	Dolores R.  Landry, 37, what had happened.

	Police say Delores Landry came outside, approached Ryan, and
	repeatedly punched her in the face.

	Another motorist, Jeffrey F. Bedard, 45, saw the attack and tried
	to stop it.  Ryan fled to the police station about a half-mile up
	the street.

	While Bedard was intervening, Delores Landry's son, Michael L.
	Spargo, 21, "pulled down his pants in the middle of Masonic Home
	Road and mooned Mr. Bedard" and other passing motorists who were
	curious about what was happening, Charlton Police Chief James
	Pervier told the Telegram & Gazette of Worcester.

	Police said they are seeking criminal complaints against Dolores
	Landry and Spargo. An assault and battery charge is being sought
	against her and an indecent exposure charge is sought against him,
	police said.

	Landry was treated at a local hospital for neck pain and released.
	Ryan did not need medical treatment. Police issued a warning to
	Ryan for failure to use care in stopping.
